School is back in session, and it can be a stressful time for both parents and kiddos as you all adjust to the new routine. But, thankfully, food doesn’t have to be an added stressor, thanks to Total Nutrition Technology. They came up with some of the following back-to-school snacks, which are healthy, easy-to-make, and budget-friendly.
Yogurt Bark
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and choose your favorite yogurt. With a spatula, spread an even layer of yogurt across your cookie sheet. Then, add your desired toppings: berries, almonds, chocolate chips, to name a few options. Freeze for 2-3 hours, or until set. Once firm, break up your bark into pieces and enjoy!
Roasted Chickpeas
For this savory snack, you’ll need one can of chickpeas (garbanzo beans), as well as olive oil and some seasonings of your choice. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Then, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, drain your beans and pat them dry. Bake for 30 minutes, or until crispy. For your seasoning, you can mix almost anything with olive oil, such as cinnamon and honey, or garlic and Parmesan. The possibilities are endless! Finally, toss your chickpeas in your seasoning, then return to the oven for about 10 minutes to get that final crisp.
