One of my most favorite places in the world is Aruba. My family has been visiting Aruba for more 50 years. It is called, “One Happy Island,” and it is one of the happiest places I have ever been.

For all my foodie’s out there Aruba is also a foodie paradise. There are several excellent restaurants and all kinds of cuisines to choose from.  Reservations are highly recommended during the high season. Two of my favorite restaurants are Wacky Wahoo

which is a fabulous local seafood restaurant. Very casual, they do not take

reservations but it is worth the wait – and Madam Jeanettes, a  longtime staple that offers upscale, delicious, continental  Aruban food.  Aruban cuisine is a delicious blend of Caribbean, Latin American and Dutch influenced dishes with lots of fresh fish and seafood and locally grown ingredients. . Gianni’s is a stunning Italian restaurant in the Palm Beach area that can host large families. Gianni also owns several other restaurants in Palm Beach including a fun ice cream bus experience.

Aruba is owned by the Netherlands, and with the fabulous Dutch influence, Aruba has many products that are imported from Holland. Be sure to try all the delicious Gouda cheese combinations.

What makes Aruba so unique is the people who are incredibly kind, friendly and helpful!  The local residents are dedicated to hospitality and making your visit the best possible experience so you will want to return again and again!

Aruba’s beaches are some of the most pristine with sand so fine it feels like powder. The crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean are full of aquatic life for all kinds of snorkeling and/or scuba diving adventures. The weather is always predictable:  it is close to 80° year-round with light winds and occasional showers.

I met many visitors in Aruba from all over the world and when you ask, “Is this your first time in Aruba?”  The majority say they’ve been returning to Aruba for more than 10 to 15 years!

Aruba is a wonderful place to share with family members. We were 13 strong during our visit in December and it made for one happy island stay.  Eagle beach is one of our favorite beaches where we stay at a lovely timeshare

called the Costa Linda.  There are several hotel options at multiple price points, including a new Ritz Carlton.

There are an abundance of activities to enjoy in Aruba; this year we had a blast going on a four-wheel drive off-road experience. It was one of the highlights of our vacation.

If you are looking for a fun, family vacation or family reunion, I can’t recommend Aruba enough. It has all the goods; fabulous weather, great food, friendly, attentive, staff and stunning beaches!!!

Bon Boni
