We are officially in the fall season, and it’s time to get into that autumn state-of-mind!  Get your kitchen ready for fall with these helpful tips and tricks:

Warm up instantly.  With cooler weather right around the corner, it’s a good idea to keep a cabinet or shelf in your kitchen stocked with hot beverages, such as cocoa, tea bags and coffee.  Keeping these items within reach will help during the times you want to warm up.

Reorganize your Cabinets.  Now is the time for casserole dishes and crock-pots, so be sure to push summer cookware (e.g. blenders) to the back of the cabinet.  You don’t want to have to unload everything in order to grab the one dish you need, so re-organizing your cabinet ahead of time saves effort and your sanity.

Clear out the freezer.  Limit your freezer to just one ice cube tray during the winter to make room for food storage containers full of soups and casserole leftovers.

Add some fall décor.  Adding autumn touches of decor to your home will help you transition into the new season with excitement of the passing of the year.  Grouping small pumpkins on the kitchen countertop is a great and festive way to add a pop of color.

Learn new recipes.  Fall is a good time to spend more time in the kitchen since days are shorter and nights are longer.  Go seasonal with cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin, and try out new recipes, such as our Pumpkin Soup with Sage , Pumpkin Bread, or our Perfect-for-Fall Chicken with Chutney and Curry.
