Last week we were thrilled to host the Wounded Warrior Project for one of our Virtual Cooking Programs! Fourteen people joined us via Zoom, ready to cook delicious California cuisine, bond with their team members and make unforgettable memories.
Lindsay Carlson, the organization’s outreach specialist, kicked off the event, where she shared all the incredible programs the Wounded Warrior Project offers veterans. Then, after playing a series of trivia and icebreakers, our guests began cooking – using whatever ingredients they had around their kitchen!
Menu items included Herb-Crusted Chicken with a Caper Vinaigrette, Herb-Crusted Eggplant for the vegetarians in the group, as well as Orzo with fresh lemon juice, Feta cheese and grape tomatoes, and Chocolate-covered Grapes for dessert.
Everyone had a great time reconnecting and learning about (and enjoying) the California cuisine they prepared. We had a great time, too, and look forward to hosting more groups in our virtual cooking programs this month! To learn more about our customized virtual cooking events, visit www.lajollacooks4u.com.
