Lajollacooks4u offers a bunch of different culinary packages, and a popular one is our Farmer’s Market Tour & Farm-to-Table cooking class.
Lisa and Ellen, two lovely ladies from Los Angeles, were the latest to give this package a try. Lisa’s husband purchased a gift certificate from our partners at Edible Destinations, the largest culinary travel agency in the United States. Lisa brought her friend, Ellen, along – and the rest is history!
Lisa and Ellen met up with Chef Jodi on a Saturday, and together they toured San Diego’s Little Italy, learning all about farm-to-table cuisine, what is seasonal and why locally grown produce is in such high demand. They then selected the freshest produce and ingredients they could find, and brought it back to Lajollacooks4u’s kitchen to create their own three-course California cuisine meal.
The day ended with a fabulous creation of decadent flourless chocolate walnut cookie ice cream sandwiches to accommodate Ellen’s gluten-free dietary restriction, and they left with a copy of our California Cuisine cookbook – an appreciation gift from Ellen to Lisa!
