July was a busy month for Lajollacooks4u, and we’ve had a blast entertaining guests from all over the country!
Most recently, we had the Benson family step into our kitchen. Kristin, Steve and their daughter, Bailey, came all the way down from Texas to celebrate Bailey’s high-school graduation! She brought along a friend to join in on the celebration and together they enjoyed a 100% gluten-free menu: eggplant roll-ups with pesto and goat cheese and chocolate mascarpone roulade – healthy and delicious!
Next, we hosted the Medical Affairs team from Illumina for an exciting evening of team building. The company’s department started with Lajollacooks4u’s signature gourmet olive oil and salt tasting and then rolled up their sleeves to help Chef Jodi prepare the night’s meal.
The beautifully crafted menu consisted of porcini rubbed chicken breast with a lemon-thyme vinaigrette, followed by chocolate melting cakes for dessert. Not a single team member left without a smile – or one of Chef Jodi’s cookbooks! One department member in particular was very pleased with the team building event. “Thank you for opening your home to us and sharing all your knowledge!” she wrote to Chef Jodi. Another member shared the same sentiment, writing, “The food, education and setting were fabulous! Thank you for a wonderful evening.”
