Lately, we’ve been hosting our cooking events at offsite venues, and last week was no exception! Carol Trussler and 22 members of the Emergent BioSolutions Global Quality Site Leadership Team joined us at the Grande Colonial Hotel in La Jolla for our signature Foodie Truck cooking competition!
To kick off the interactive and fast-paced evening, the group played several icebreakers to split into teams. Then, each team selected a head chef, as well as a marketing group who helped create a foodie truck facade and infomercial.
Chef Jodi was blown away by the end result of both teams’ contributions – the “Sheik of Greek” and “Food without Faces” trucks. “It never ceases to amaze me how creative the teams get!” she said. “When provided with a fun and creative environment, team members’ creative juices flow and their competitive nature kicks in, big time!”
All in all, the teams had an absolute blast, and the fun continued through the event as they prepared – and savored – their delicious, seasonal creations. The Grande Colonial provided the perfect space for an intimate team-building activity, and we look forward to hosting there again soon!
