July has been super busy in our kitchen, as we had two large groups visit us last week for our signature team-building events! First up, we had 13 members of Darkhorse Consulting join us at our La Jolla venue for a morning of cooking fun.
Their event first began with the group participating in a series of icebreakers. They then split off into two teams and began preparing a delicious lunch, consisting of menu items Grilled Chicken Shawarma, Roasted Cauliflower with Tahini, Puff Pastry Tarts with Caramelized Onions and Figs, Seasonal Peaches and Goat Cheese Mousse with Fresh Berries. Everyone had so much fun cooking, collaborating and, ultimately, bonding with one another, that team member Rob Allen exclaimed, “Excellent! Great fun!”
Later in the week, we hosted 34 team members from San Diego-based software company Attack IQ. This large group came our way due to one of its team members, Jenni Hastie. Interestingly enough, Jenni originally contacted us a few years ago to coordinate a large teambuilding cooking challenge for her previous company. She was so impressed with the experience that she brought her new team at Attack IQ to join the fun!
Once playing several different icebreakers, the group broke off into four teams and began preparing their assigned dishes. Each team had a blast cooking, collaborating and creating their 30-second infomercials. Chef Jodi even hired a professional Master of Ceremonies, Donny Dunstone, who did a great job engaging the crowd and transitioning the group from segment to segment.
After the event, Jenni Hastie wrote, “Yet again, Lajollacooks4u was amazing! Most every team member pulled me aside to praise me on the event. Thank you for making me look so good! Drinks, games and amazing food – what more could we want!”
Many thanks to Darkhouse Consulting and AttackIQ for visiting us! For more information on our signature team-building events and corporate cooking challenges, please visit www.lajollacooks4u.com.
