It’s spring over here at Lajollacooks4u, and with the warmer weather, we’ve had a flock of guests come through our doors! Last week, we had global science and technology innovators, Danaher, bring 14 of its department heads for a fun evening of cooking.
The group broke up into two teams and got down to business in the kitchen. They prepared Focaccia with Roasted Tomato Sauce for an appetizer and a scrumptious Blackened Chicken and Salmon with Homemade Chimichurri Sauce on a bed of quinoa with black beans and corn for their main course. The meal was then topped off with our signature Melting Cakes for dessert!
Allison Blackwell, the Director of the group, said, “Thank you for a very fun and nourishing meal. The team loved the experience!”
Next, we had Kelly and Steve Jenkins join us for our gourmet cooking and dining experience. Kelly brought her husband, who has a passion for cooking, one of our gift certificates for Christmas. (Interestingly enough, Steve used to cook for hundreds of his son’s bandmates on the road as the band was performing all over the country).
Together, they prepared a Seasonal Salad with Apples and Pomegranate Seeds, followed by a locally caught Sea Bass with a Spiced Crust and a Ginger and Cilantro Yogurt Sauce. Dessert was our magnificent Pears Blanched in Wine with a Pecan Crumble.
Steve loved his experience with us, especially since he could enjoy our views overlooking La Jolla and the tranquility of our beautiful setting. In fact, he said it was the best Christmas present ever!
