Lajollacooks4u celebrated Independence Day in a big way this year, by welcoming NERA Consulting into its kitchen for a second time!
Twenty-seven of the company’s team members and their spouses were in San Diego for a conference and were looking for a memorable way to celebrate the Fourth of July – and, of course, our signature team-building events were the answer!
To kick-off the culinary event, the group took part in an olive oil tasting and then were split up into three teams to each prepare delicious brunch items. While one team made Homemade Tortillas with Avocado Sauce as an appetizer, another team prepared Grilled Stone Fruit and paired it with Labne Cheese and Yogurt. For the main course, the teams made a Frittata loaded with bacon, veggies and Feta cheese and a Flatbread with Smoked Salmon, Herb Goat Cheese, Onions and Capers – all of which were enjoyed atop Chef Jodi’s festive Fourth of July tablescape! Dessert was a delicious Strawberry Shortcake topped with Grand Marnier whipped cream.
One of our guests, Gayle Kruse, said, “The recipes were so delicious!” while another guest, Dusty Greer, exclaimed, “Loved it! Such a great experience to share with my son!”
As the morning came to a close, the group packed up and left by bus, filled with unforgettable memories and full bellies. Thank you for visiting us, NERA Consulting! We hope to see you in our kitchen again soon!
