Our friend, Patty Hazlehurst, first visited Lajollacooks4u in 2010 while on a vacation in La Jolla to see her son. Hazlehurst loved the gourmet cooking and dining experience offered in Chef Jodi’s kitchen so much that she returned for her third visit, this last month!
Her second visit, in July 2013, was particularly special. She had brought her 90 year-old mother-in-law and sister-in-law to see what was so remarkable about this unique activity. Her mother-in-law, Helen, equally enjoyed participating in the preparation of a delicious, gourmet five-course meal.
Throughout the event, the fun-loving nonagenarian showed us the importance of enjoying the great food and gifts life has to offer.
Hazlehurst’s most recent visit to Lajollacooks4u brought along a few friends. While visiting her son and daughter-in-law in La Jolla, she couldn’t resist introducing her friends to her favorite activity in town.
This past menu included appetizers of a Focaccia with Eggplant Caponata and Burrata and an Apple, Fennel, & Pomegranate Seeds Salad in a Parmesan Cheese Basket accompanied with 2012 Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc. The stunning entrée of seared Beef Tenderloin with Tomato Onion Chutney and Blue Cheese Sauce was prepared with sides of roasted Asparagus bundles and Wild Mushroom Farro Risotto accompanied by 2010 Josh Cabernet Sauvignon. The meal was completed with the scrumptious Pears Blanched in White Wine with a Pecan Crumble.
