The summer season may be reaching its final month, but we're still feeling the heat at Lajollacooks4u. Maybe it's because our Kitchen Toys and Monthly Must-Haves are just so hot! But our secret ingredient is too cool (ice cold). We're just too hot and too cool.
Lajollacooks4u's kitchen is so cool now that it is the proud owner of this hot, hot appliance! With six large burners and a griddle in between, guests can easily gather around to gain the full, hands-on cooking experience Lajollacooks4u offers.
Chef Jodi is thrilled about her latest and greatest kitchen toy: "it revolutionizes the cooking process- the burners heat up faster and more efficiently, which means groups are able to cook more in less time. The industrial size of the stovetop ensures everyone enough elbow room while cooking. It's the perfect kitchen toy for Lajollacooks4u!"
Grill smarter not harder with Silicone Grill Mats- the most underestimated tool. Instead of placing your food onto the grilling racks, set them on the grilling mats. For things you don't want to slip through the grill racks (such as juicy vegetables or smaller chunks), you can rest the items on the mats. The best part? No mess and no stress. Silicone grill mats can be simply wiped clean!
Chef Jodi says, "I found my silicone grill mats at Bed, Bath and Beyond, and they have been so useful for all of my grilling this summer. No more losing food that has slipped through the cracks, no sticky mess left on the racks. They make grilling so easy and efficient!"
TIP: You simply MUST use a Silicone Grill Mat when making our Grilled Stone Fruit dish (find this dished out recipe here)! Makes this simple dish so much simpler!
You may ask, "ice cubes, really?" Yes, ice cubes! We were simply blown away by how something so common can be so useful for making delicious, natural salad dressings. If you haven't yet seen it listed in the instructions for this Summer Salad recipe (Mario's Tomato, Cucumber and Purple Onion Salad), then we'll give you the low (in temperature) down here:
Take your already-to-go salad (with olive oil, oregano, and a dash of salt and pepper) and add a handful of (4-5) ice cubes. Gently toss the salad and ice cubes together for a few minutes as ice cubes melt. Once the ice cubes melt, you'll have a delicious, light and home-made dressing!
Chef Jodi says, "This salad dressing trick ONLY works in summer! Plain water simply doesn't do the trick. The changing of temperatures with the summer heat are absolutely key to making the dressing."
