With big team building events on the menu, Lajollacooks4u's very first cookbook in the oven, and many groups being prepped for, we're anticipating a jaw-dropping, mouth-watering year! But first, we're going to wrap up and slap a bow on the month of December.
First, we'd like to give a special shout out to a fellow Chef who helped make this an absolutely wonderful year for Lajollacooks4u.
Chef Chris Gardner, Director of Food Services at Volunteers of America, Southwest, has been so great to Lajollacooks4u. From demonstrating grill skills during a team building event, to single-handedly coordinating "A Night of Food and Football", personally inviting the all-star guests, and handling the entirely donated ingredients, Chef Chris has helped make this past year groundbreaking for Lajollacooks4u.
He is a true pro when it comes to charity and non-profit events, which is so inspiring. Volunteers of America, Southwest is one of our favorite non-profit organizations, benefiting communities on many levels. We are so proud to say we have worked with someone who does so much good work for those in need!
We tip our (chef) hats to you, Chef Chris! We are so very grateful for and inspired by all that you've done and continue to do.
Lajollacooks4u kicked off the month of December with a Foodie Tour for a wonderful couple of foodies, Jennifer and Roger.
This couple especially loved the cooking part of their cooking and dining experience, and couldn't get enough of the delicious recipes they learned to prepare in Chef Jodi's beautiful kitchen.
Itron, a local energy management company, nearly brought down the house with their corporate holiday party at Lajollacooks4u. Chef Jodi and her staff had a blast with their fun, large group, as they cooked a delicious three-course meal.
Team members at Itron loved being at Lajollacooks4u! One guest even shared that this was "hands-down, the best team building event" he had ever been to in his "22 years with the company".
Lajollacooks4u then expanded their setting into the perfect corporate conference space for SONAR Strategies and Consumer Insights' big Chicken of the Sea Innovation event. For three days, Chef Jodi and her hard-working staff prepped, cooked, cleaned, entertained and cooked some more.
Even with breakfast, lunch, and in-between snacks served, the teams simply couldn't get enough of Chef Jodi's incredible, gourmet dishes! Lajollacooks4u proved to be the perfect location for large corporate team meetings due to its friendly and open space, and inspiring environment.
Among the guest speakers who presented at the Chicken of the Sea Innovation event was Wendy Bazilian, DrPH, RD, the incredibly educated Nutrition and Fitness Consultant and Writer.
Love (and delicious smells of food) were in the air at Lajollacooks4u! We welcomed two more kind couples into our kitchen this month.
We welcomed military, Lizette and Derek, for a fun afternoon of gourmet cooking and dining. This was Derek's first visit to San Diego, and he wanted to wow Lizette with a special activity.
And finally, Lajollacooks4u welcomed the Snyder's and Meisel's, a multi-generation family from Boston, for a fun, pre-New Years cooking class!
After the rush in December, we are very much looking forward to all that 2015 has in store for Lajollacooks4u!
