Chef Jodi Visits Local Food Bank

Chef Jodi is very passionate about feeding people delicious food, so when it was brought to her attention that so many people in our community go to bed hungry each night, she jumped at the chance to help.

She visited the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County and met with its President and CEO James Floros.  She learned that the food bank serves, on average, 370,000 people per month, as well as provides food to 350 local-area nonprofits that operate feeding programs.

Chef Jodi has also gotten involved in the Bank’s Food 4 Kids Backpack Program, which provides weekend backpacks of food to elementary school students living in poverty who receive free meals at school during the week but face hunger at home over the weekend. The backpacks are distributed to the children on Friday filled with nutritional food to see them through the weekend.
