Chef Jodi is passionate about feeding the hungry in our community, and she has been committed to giving back to those in need over the years. One of the local initiatives she wholeheartedly supports is Kitchens for Good, a nonprofit whose programs provide workplace training, healthy food production and hunger relief to those in San Diego.
Last week, she visited the nonprofit as its Guest Chef, where she taught a dessert-making class for 20 of the program’s students – all who are set to graduate in June from the facility’s rigorous on-the-job culinary training program. The class kicked off with the group breaking into four teams, with each team being responsible for completing a recipe under Chef Jodi’s guidance.
The recipes were a big hit, as the group made delicious treats, like Chocolate Salami and Cornflake Florentines, which were then served to a group that was visiting Kitchens for Good later that afternoon! Everyone had a blast collaborating with each other, and Chef Jodi cannot wait to visit the facility again soon.
